We are changing the look and name of our application portal.  The portal will be known as Tomo mai, a name which signals an invitation, and entrance point, to come in and access support for filmmakers.

Feature Film Production Investment  

At the June 2023 Board Meeting, the NZFC Board approved conditional offers of funding to two new feature films.

We were thrilled to welcome Annie Murray as our new CEO at the NZFC last week.

Te Tumu Whakaata Taonga The New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC) commends the New Zealand Government’s renewed commitment to the New Zealand Screen Production Grant (NZSPG).
 

Production has wrapped on Piki Films (JoJo Rabbit, Hunt for the Wilderpeople) and Sandy Lane Productions (Bad Behaviour, Juniper) feature The Mountain.

The Marché du Film (Cannes Film Market) kicks off on 16 May and runs through until 24 May. 

Back in 2019, Taratoa Stappard had a short film showing at the Māoriland Film Festival.  During the event the NZFC Talent Development team ran a pitch competition.

The NZFC was privileged to co-partner with Walt Disney Studios and Wētā Workshop to offer a ‘Keeping Things Practical’ Workshop on the 2nd of April in Wellington, this was made possible through the New Zealand Screen Production Grant – International.
