Te Tumu Whakaata Taonga The New Zealand Film Commission (NZFC) is looking to recruit an experienced co-ordinator on a fixed term contract to the end of 2021.   This position is full time and will be based in our Wellington office.

What will you be doing?

The Talent Development Capability Fund Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the Capability funding. This will involve working closely with the industry guilds, related organisations/stakeholders and talent development partners.

They will also take a lead on the delivery of a one-off education event for industry.

What will you bring? 

  • Knowledge of the film and creative industries with at least 3 years practical experience working within in film, TV or other related fields
  • Proven administrative and co-ordination skills and experience
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and the ability to build strong relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Able to work under pressure and to prioritise competing demands
  • Sound knowledge of computer software packages, particularly Microsoft Word, Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • An understanding, and/or have worked, on databases or CRM technologies
  • Integrity and the ability to manage confidential information
  • Ability to multitask and self-manage, juggle competing demands and prioritise work efficiently, and without direct supervision
  • Team player with a positive, friendly, and flexible attitude
  • High energy and passion for delivering quality outcomes
  • A commitment to a culture of equality, inclusion and diversity
  • An eye for detail

Preferable

  • A background in talent development and/or production
  • Screen industry experience
  • Events co-ordination experience
  • Fluency or competency in te reo Māori 
  • Understanding of and commitment to Tikanga and Kaupapa Māori

Desirable

  • Experience operating in the public sector, government experience
  • People who belong to a community underrepresented in the screen sector
