DIRECTOR’S NOTES - Michael Reihana

“Since Little Gold Cowboy was my first film to direct I wanted it to be a fun experience for all involved. I made it with a group of ten people, friends that I had worked with previously, who all did multiple jobs on the film. There were no professional actors used, and several of the crewmembers had a role in a few scenes. The people of the towns all co-operated as I had previously met them all while sitting in pubs scouting out locations. No one seemed to mind having a film crew or a gold cowboy in their backyard. We all worked on making costumes, setting art department, borrowing props, and feeding the goldfish. I look forward to making more films in New Zealand and internationally.”
