For Good is writer/ director Stuart McKenzie’s debut feature.

An intense psychological thriller, it tracks a young woman’s struggle with her own sexual identity as she agonizes over the brutal rape and murder of her childhood companion. As she enters the mind of the killer and discovers his unexpected humanity, we are drawn into a complex web of desire, compassion and revenge.

For Good invokes a scene that has become part of the New Zealand media landscape — the abduction and murder of young women in a rural setting. The film was inspired by real interviews with victims' families and offenders of violent crime.
